The Night Shift’s End

Emma, 24 years old and a professional nurse, felt the weariness of the night shift weigh on her. She was one of the best nurses in all of Luxembourg’s Hospital, a fact that stirred jealousy in a few of her colleagues. But Sandy, her childhood best friend and fellow nurse, proved to be a loyal exception and was always at her side.

“Time to get back to work, Sandy!†Emma said with a blunt face, ready to clock out.

As they reached the main exit door, the fluorescent light bulb directly above them shattered against the wall, making a sharp crack.

Sandy screamed, “OH Gosh!â€

But before the sound died, a terrifying chain reaction started. The lights down the corridor shattered, turn by turn, plunging the normally pristine halls into an oppressive, inky darkness. Suddenly, the atmosphere outside filled with rage: the thunder clapped and roared like a monstrous voice, and the wind wheezed violently against the glass, tearing at their blond hair. A chilling feeling rooted Emma’s feet. Instinctively, she sensed a wave of uncertain danger

2. DASH TO THE DRL’S

3. ESCAPE FROM THE JUNGLE

Emma wrenched the gear into drive. The substantial power and torque of the BMW I7 launched the vehicle forward in a heartbeat, its tires spinning as it accelerated toward the exit ramp. The SUV was incredibly robust, a solid cage of steel protecting them.

She flew out of the parking lot and onto the road, but the streets were unrecognizable. The storm’s fury, coupled with the power outage, had twisted the well-maintained suburban roads into something wild. Downed trees and thick, overgrown vines blocked the main route, forcing Emma onto a narrow, rutted track. Rain-lashed darkness and the choking vegetation made the surroundings feel less like a road in Luxembourg and more like a dense, primeval jungle.

For this is what the BMW I7 was built for. Its rugged suspension and wide stance handled the treacherous, muddy path with surprising ease, while its headlights and the piercing DRLs fought the oppressive shadows to illuminate the slick, overgrown path just ahead of the hood.

“Where are we? Emma, this looks like the wilderness!” Sandy cried, clinging to the door handle.

“It’s the only way forward! We need to outrun it!”

Emma knew the threat wasn’t just behind them; it was the darkness itself, and the BMW I7 was their only source of light and strength.

Suddenly, out onto the track ahead stepped a figure—the same terrifying, hulking shape as from the hospital—emerging from tangled, wet vines and dripping ferns. It was huge, standing right in the powerful beams of the BMW I7’s DRLs.

Emma didn’t hesitate. She didn’t slow down. She yelled, a sound part fear and part fierce determination, and pressed the accelerator hard. TheBMW I7 turned into a weapon. The powerful SUV rammed into the figure with a thud that sounded sickening. The car jolted violently, but the solid construction of the X7 held firm. The terrifying shape was gone, swallowed by the mud and the dark jungle shadows behind them. Emma didn’t look back. She kept the Oshan X7 hurtling down the narrow, dark path, the powerful engine roaring and the DRLs fixed forward, guiding them through the hostile, stormy night. The sturdy vehicle had become their life support, carrying them away from the terror they had just escaped.
